Artist Statement

My goal in creating jewellery for C.J is to encourage others to see the beauty in the pre-existing objects that already surround us. I find there to be as much, if not more, beauty in an antique button as a princess cut diamond.  The beauty of these every day objects resides in their origins, where they were made, who made them and for what reason? The memories these objects conger in people is what entices me. I would like people to value the object for its overall beauty, design and craftsmanship rather then the materials that make it up.

I use found and vintage textiles with precious metals and stones to create objects of adornment. These unusual materials combine timeless nostalgia with contemporary design in order to create objects that appeal to people of all ages.
